Meet the Band

I’m Vicky, the lead singer with Revolution. Singing is my life – I’ve been doing it professionally since I was 16 years old! After training at the Midland Academy of Dance and Drama, I went on tour with “Mad about the Musicals”. It was the perfect first job for me, as I AM mad about the musicals! But I also love rock and pop – in fact, you’d find it hard to name a song from the last five decades that I haven’t performed at some point! I’ve toured the country with a song, dance and illusion show called “Kicks and Tricks”, and worked as a resident singer at Warner Hotels and Butlins Holiday Resorts. The tribute acts I have performed range from Bananarama to Pink. My ambition has always been to start my own band, and I’m thrilled to be living the dream. I love performing at parties and helping to make them special. I look forward to bringing some Revolution magic to your special event!

I began playing the drums at the age of 8 and subsequently spent my school years playing with various school orchestras and brass bands around Lincolnshire. Shortly after gaining honours in popular music at Lincoln College in the year 2000, i was offered my first job as a professional musician at Butlins Holiday Resort in Skegness. Over the next 10 years, I performed all over the UK with a wide variety of Artistes, including Jason Donavan, Bucks Fizz, Gerard Kenny, Angie Brown, Chico, Katrina and the Waves, Darren Day, Shane Ritchie and Bradley Walsh to name but a few. I have also been teaching drums in schools and privately since 2004.

I started to play the guitar at the age of 10 and subsequently joined my first band at the age of 13. When I was 16 I began studying a National Diploma in music practice at the Leicestershire Music Centre and began performing in various professional bands and shows in the Leicester area. After completing the two year Diploma I went on to study at The Sage in Gateshead where I achieved a BMus (Hons) in Jazz, Popular and Commercial Music. I now divide my time between teaching privately and in various schools in Leicestershire as well as touring the country with Revolution. My main influences include John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Mike Stern, John Coltrane and Pat Methney.
